Marine Insurance 

Since its earliest days, the firm has represented Lloyd's, company and overseas underwriters in connection with cargo, hull and liability insurance.

Shipping 

The firm has extensive experience in all aspects of shipping law.

Collision, Salvage and General Average 

The firm's breadth of experience enables us to handle all aspects of collision liabilities and claims.

London remains the principal centre for the resolution of salvage claims, most of which continue to be conducted under the Lloyd's Open Form contract . The firm regularly represents property underwriters in such cases. It also has extensive experience in representing salvage contractors.

Our extensive involvement in salvage matters often creates the need to advise insurers on their liability to contribute to general average.

Carriage of Goods by Road / CMR 

The firm regularly handles claims arising from any aspect of the carriage of goods by road (both domestic and international), including the pursuit of subrogated recoveries for cargo insurers, defending or pursuing claims for liability insurers and acting directly for the parties to the contract of carriage.

Recoveries 

The firm has an established reputation for not only representing subrogated cargo underwriters in unseaworthiness claims against carriers by sea but also pursuing recovery claims against carriers by road and air, warehouse keepers etc..

Charterparties 

The firm has considerable experience in what is customarily termed 'dry' work and is capable of servicing all the requirements of charterers, owners and their respective insurers.

Commercial and Logistics Contracts 

The firm has advised upon, negotiated and drafted a wide variety of sale and purchase, distribution, logistics and forwarding contracts - as well as the standard trading conditions of various carriers, forwarders and port authorities.

Reinsurance 

The firm specializes in all aspects of reinsurance litigation.

Fine Art/ Specie claims 

The firm advises the fine art/specie market in relation to the insurance of fine art, diamonds, jewellery and bullion/cash in transit.

Yacht Claims 

We act for hull and liability insurers in all types of claims involving pleasurecraft, yachts and superyachts; including carriage afloat/ashore; contact and racing damage; policy matters; and building and contractual disputes.

Personal Injuries 

We act for liability insurers in connection with claims for personal injuries suffered on vessels (including pleasurecraft, superyachts and jet-skis) and in terminals and yacht yards.

Terminal Operators 

The firm represents and defends terminal operators and their insurers in liability claims. We have also drafted the standard trading conditions of terminal operators and advised both operators and their liability insurers on risk management issues.

Non- Marine Insurance 

We act for non-marine insurers in relation to coverage disputes and all property, casualty and liability issues (including professional indemnity).

Commodities 

The firm is experienced in handling soft commodity arbitrations under all of the major trading terms, such as GAFTA, FOSFA and RSA. We also act in commodity related arbitrations (LCIA and ICC) as well as High Court actions, often involving claims for injunctive relief to preserve stocks pending the resolution of the underlying dispute. In addition, we represent major traders in disputes arising out of oil and oil product trades.

Mediation 

The firm is able to offer mediation services as an alternative method of seeking to resolve disputes.
