Sophie graduated in 2003 from the University of Orleans with a degree in French law. She also holds an LLM in International Commercial law obtained from Northumbria University and a Masters Degree in Maritime Law from the University of Aix-Marseille III. She wrote her dissertations on the post-contractual duty of utmost good faith in marine insurance law and on anti-suit injunctions within the scope of the Brussels Regulations 44/2001. In 2005, Sophie relocated to London where she completed her Graduate Diploma in Law and Legal Practice Course at the College of Law. She joined Waltons & Morse as a trainee solicitor in 2007 and qualified as an English solicitor in September 2009. Sophie has experience working on marine insurance coverage disputes and the carriage of goods by road (CMR) and sea (in the recovery of subrogated claims). Sophie is bilingual (French and English) and is a member of the Franco-British Lawyers Society and AFDM (French Maritime Law Association). |
