Chris Chatfield specialises in Goods in Transit work (primarily road and ocean carriage), policy disputes, insurance litigation and the drafting of commercial contracts (such as distribution agreements and forwarders' standard trading conditions). His goods in transit work includes both recoveries and liability work.

I joined Waltons & Morse in July 1999 from Davies Lavery where I qualified as a solicitor in December 1997. I have a Masters Degree in International Commercial Law from the University of Nottingham and wrote my thesis on title to sue in respect of the carriage of goods by sea.

I specialise in Goods in Transit work (primarily road and ocean carriage), policy disputes, insurance litigation and the drafting of contracts. My goods in transit work includes both recoveries and liability work. I have been responsible for the drafting of the standard conditions of several well known organisations. I have also negotiated, drafted and advised upon various distribution agreements and freight forwarding contracts, in addition to a number of other commercial agreements.
