Mark heads the firm's Wet Shipping Practice and specialises in Salvage and GA matters together with carriage of goods disputes (including liability, contractual and recovery). Within this field Mark also covers pleasure craft/yachts work and ports and terminals involving both litigation and contractual issues.

Mark also specialises in insurance litigation (both marine and non-marine) including coverage disputes.

Mark has considerable experience in the marine field on both the Cargo and hull side including issues of jurisdiction, limitation, collision, unseaworthiness, ISM and other issues. Mark acts primarily for insurers (including Lloyds Syndicates and the company market) worldwide upon liability and coverage issues, including drafting policy wordings.

Mark has also been heavily engaged in many of the Gulf of Aden piracy cases since early 2008.

Mark qualified in 1994 and from the beginning of his training has had heavy involvement in wet shipping work. Mark joined Waltons in early 1997 and became a Partner in the firm in July 2001. Mark has also worked in (and visits regularly) Asia having worked in Hong Kong, Singapore and Vietnam with considerable contacts in the area.

Mark is the firm's representative on the Admiralty Solicitors Group, a supporting member of the LMAA, a Subscriber Member of the Association of Average Adjusters and a member of the BMLA.
