Piracy Update

July 2012

The number of pirate attacks have fallen sharply in the first half of 2012, led by a drop in Somali piracy, the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) International Maritime Bureau’s (IMB) global piracy report revealed today, but warned that these numbers were offset by a worrying increase of attacks in the Gulf of Guinea (see our bulletin on the increase in West Coast attacks;  Piracy - but not as we know it).  If you have any queries then please contact our Piracy Team: Christopher Dunn (cjd@wamlaw.co.uk), Mark Lloyd (mal@wamlaw.co.uk), Michael Biltoo (myb@wamlaw.co.uk) and Andrew Yarwood (apy@wamlaw.co.uk).
